What we collect
When you contact us through this website we collect what you give us — your name, phone number, email address, and details about the vehicle you are asking about or offering to sell. If you apply for financing, that application is handled on our finance provider's secure form and is governed by their disclosures as well as this policy.
How we use it
To answer you, to price or appraise a vehicle, and to arrange a test drive or a purchase. That is it. We do not sell your information.
Text messages
Our forms have two separate text-message boxes, both optional and both unticked until you tick them. The first lets us text you about your enquiry — replies, appointment confirmations and reminders. The second lets us text you occasional offers and new arrivals. You can tick either, both or neither, and still send the form. Texts may be sent using automated technology. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. We keep a record of what you agreed to and when.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service or messaging delivery, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Who else sees it
Our dealer management software, our messaging provider and our financing partners, only so far as they need it to do the job, and Google, for the website statistics described below. We do not sell or rent your details to anyone.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and vehicles people look at. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives the pages you view, how you arrived, your browser and device, and your approximate location. It does not receive anything you type into our forms, and we never send it your phone number or email address. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on; Google's use of the data is described in its privacy policy.
The site also keeps two small notes in your own browser: the vehicles you save, which stay on your device, and the page you arrived on (including any ad campaign tag in the link), which is sent with a form only if you submit one. The map on our contact page is provided by Google and follows Google's privacy policy.
How we protect it
Everything you send us travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. It is stored in our customer management system, which only our staff can sign in to. Finance applications are completed on our finance provider's secure form, not on this website.
Your choices
Ask us to stop contacting you and we will. Ask us what we hold on you and we will tell you. Ask us to delete it and we will, except where we are required to keep records of a sale. Call (812) 917-0017, email info@mwestauto.com, or use the contact form.
